Pilot Study of the MultiSense Patch to Record Cardiopulmonary Data during Sleep and Wake Cycles

Recent advances in sensor and electronics technology have spurred the development of wearable sensors including patches and clothing that can monitor electrocardiogram, heart rate and rhythm, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, physical activity and body position. Such devices could prove to be important diagnostic aids for sleep disorders and provide physicians and patients a convenient alternative to an in-clinic, overnight polysomnography.

In this study we utilize a novel, wearable device, MultiSense, developed by Rhythm Diagnostic Systems, Inc. which has multiple sensors embedded in a “Band-Aid” like strip in order to explore its diagnostic capabilities in individuals suspected of having obstructive sleep apnea.

Enrollment for this study is complete.
