Applications Systems Administrator
Alexander Lippman is an Applications System Administrator with the Genomic Medicine group at Scripps Translational Science Institute (STSI). Before joining STSI, he worked as a Bioinformatics Programmer with the Molecular Graphics Laboratory at The Scripps Research Institute interested in developing novel techniques for the computation, analysis, and modeling of the interaction of protein-ligand, protein-protein and other biomolecular systems. He has also worked at the Prometheus Laboratories, and later at Nestle Health Science, where he helped to transform, upgrade and develop the Collaborative Enzyme Enhanced Reactive (CEER) Oncology platform which measures the expression and activation of biomarkers associated with specific cancer pathways with high levels of analytical sensitivity and specificity using tissue or blood samples. The CEER platform enables real-time functional proteomic profiling to evaluate potential effectiveness of targeted treatments, and helps clinicians provide personalized care through evidence based treatment selection and monitoring process.
Alex received a graduate level certificate from the University of California, San Diego in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences Information Technology, as well as training in Applied Biotechnology Technology and Computer Science from Miramar College, San Diego. He is currently earning UNIX & Linux System Administration certificate from the University of California, San Diego and holds a B.S. in Biotechnical and Medical Apparatuses and Systems.
Alex is excited to apply genomic medicine tools to solve research questions, workflow evaluation, analysis, as well as selection and maintenance of laboratory information management system (LIMS).
