Rediscovering Passion in Healthcare
The Scripps Translational Science Institute (STSI) harbors many talented individuals with a broad range of skills – Dr. Paddy Barrett is one of them. Dr. Barrett is a trained Interventional Cardiologist working in digital medicine, as well as a KL2 Scholar at STSI. His latest project, the Doctor Paradox podcast, launched in September 2015.
The Doctor Paradox podcast addresses the growing dissatisfaction felt by an increasing number of physicians towards their work. It delves into why physicians are unhappy in their work, and what they can do about it both at a systems level as well as an individual level. Dr. Barrett interviews experts in different fields of medicine who have followed their own path and found fulfillment.
